The Adventure…
Pig Iron Day is an annual event celebrating the importance of iron in the early development of Jackson County. The name comes from the molten iron that flows from the hearth in the base of the furnace stack, through the trench of red iron, and into the many short side branches to form bars of iron that would be shipped to various locations for remanufacturing.

Getting There’s Half the Adventure…
Pig Iron Day takes place in August at Manpower Park along East Main Street in Jackson. From US 35 take the Broadway Street exit towards Jackson. Follow Broadway Street approximately 1 mile and then turn left onto Main Street. Manpower Park will be about a half mile down Main Street.
