Ribs, Rhythm & Blues Festival

The Adventure…
Ribs, Rhythm and Blues is sponsored by the Union Hall Theater in Chesterhill, Ohio. The main event is the fantastic line-up of blues and jazz musicians from around the region and state that appear on stage in the restored Union Hall Theater but, as in intro, concert goers can enjoy a delicious meal of pork ribs, baked beans and a variety of homemade pies, cakes and other desserts. Cost for both the meal and the show is $20.00. Tickets for the concert alone are $17.00. Reservations are recommended and dining is al fresco in the parking area adjacent to the theater.
The Union Hall Theater has a second floor auditorium and is in the process of being restored. Operated by a volunteer organization the theater offers a variety of live entertainment throughout the year and may feature anything from jazz, bluegrass or renaissance music to live theater or classic movies. The community of Chesterhill has a colorful history as a station of the underground railroad system in Ohio and has one of the few remaining Quaker congregations still meeting in Ohio. The Quaker Meeting House is a popular stop for visitors and tour groups coming to Morgan County and a local history group, the Multicultural Genealogical Center, is opening a small museum to house area artifacts and tell the story of this unique community.
