Cave Lake

The Adventure…
Cave Lake has a lot to offer visitors. The focal points of this attraction are Frost Cave and a 42-acre lake. The 700-acre wooded property is home to more than 150 species of birds, 160 species of trees and shrubs, and 360 species of plants. The large cave provides habitat to elusive bats, the seldom seen Sullivant's coolwort (Sullivantia sullivantii) – a native perennial - and the rare Frost Cave Isopod (Caecidotea Rotunda) – a threatened small crustacean. The shelter house is a great picnic spot while the lake is open to boating and swimming. Boat and canoe rentals are available. Interested in staying for a weekend? Cave Lake offers a quiet group camping area and several cabins.
